inscribed Atelier Jiro Yoshihara/_?_. Note: Yoshihara was
the acknowledged leader of the "Gutai" group, formed
in 1954. According to art historian Yve-Alain Bois, "The
activities of the Gutai group in the mid-1950's constitute
one of the most important moments of post-war Japanese culture." The
group disbanded in 1972 following Yoshihara's death.
